Always a fantastic experience at Champetre. Food is terrific, service always feels personal and friendly, and the atmosphere is so chic. Extra points for great music!
We invested an hour + drive on a rainy evening, to add a new restaurant onto our bucket list, Champetre in Pine Plains NY, and it was well worth it. We are veterans of fine French dining and were not disappointed. The ambiance was pleasant and the service exemplary. We felt welcome right away when greeted by gracious host Helen. The food was all top notch. Would recommend.
We recently had Champetre cater our wedding in Pine Plains, and the hors d'oeuvres and reception dinner was some of the best food we've ever had. They were so incredibly accommodating and their service and experience were indispensable in helping everything go off without a hitch. We were incredibly luckily to have had them recommended to us, and would ask them to cater again in a heartbeat.
Lovely, authentic Provençal meal in a relaxed, yet quietly elegant dining room. Suitable for stopping in with the family in summer casuals or dressing a bit for a special birthday. The chef is seasoned and top notch hailing from some of NY’s finest French restaurants. Will definitely go back:
It was delicious, but I did leave hungry. I would go again if they opened for lunch. Servings are not big enough for dinner in my opinion
Low-key exterior downplays extraordinary food. Wonderful service and a fully stocked bar led to a martini ordered "as filthy as three days at Coachella." Favorites on the menu include the escargot, steak tartare, and every dessert (tiramisu highly recommended, all prepared by the head chef). Visit and feast while it's still an undiscovered gem!
Well well well everything from the staff to the food was impeccable. Tracy & Helen greeted me and my party and tended to us the entire time. We felt like locals and like family while we were there. The Chef Michelle made sure to come say hello to our table too and took time to share stories of his well lived and fabulous life from France to Los Angeles, Colorado, NYC and finally back to this little gem of a town. The food only served to top our lovely experience. Food paired well with wine and the wait staff (Tracy) was SO EXTREMELY knowledgeable of how every dish was prepared and what exactly which wine to pair with our food. I was just a visitor but we so can't wait to come back!
Can't say enough about this place from top to bottom. The service was stellar, attentive but still allowed you to enjoy yourself, but always there if you needed something. Knowledgable, great recommendations, and you can tell they eat/love the food as well. The food is out of this world. Classic flavors and well executed. The escargot is unreal! Simply the best I think I've ever had - and that includes Paris. Can't wait to go back.
